Apple trees and lilac bushes are blooming in abundance making for beautiful scenic drives in the country.I was out on the past two weekends delivering The Art Map to locations in Grey and Bruce Counties. I thought I would share some of the interesting things I've seen on my travels.
Wiarton's Tourist Information Centre was originally a train station. It has the original bench where travellers waited for the train, pretty interesting, but it also has the original tongue and groove ceiling. What is amazing is the fact that it is curved. Worth a look see. Also there is a great view of the bay and harbour. Wiarton Willie's house is right across the street.
Tobermory's Little Tub harbour (photo with boats) is worth a visit too. Surrounded by great art galleries, shops and restaurants this harbour is a wonderful spot to spend the afternoon or longer. You also can catch a boat tour to Flowerpot Island from here or take your car on the ChiCheemaun to Manitoulin.
