During the month of June, Mad and Noisy’s “group of seven” will celebrate the beauty of nature’s elements through the mediums of jewellery, oil paintings, wood, clay, and watercolours.  Beyond the beautiful gem inlay and goldsmith work of Elaine Wigle, this show will juxtapose the work of three landscape artists against the creations of three vessel makers.  Whether the work captures the fantastic sunsets over large bodies of water, depicts the whimsy of wildlife, or reveals the inner beauty of our country’s magnificent trees, this exhibition will pay tribute to the natural materials, diverse textures, striking lines and organic shapes of our rich surroundings.

March Came in Like a Lion

March began with some wild weather but now looks very lamb like, much like Debra's painting.

My calendar is turned to March and Debra Lynn Carrol's wonderfully detailed oil painting, Winter Contours. If you would like to see this painting in person, at present it is hanging at the Loft Gallery in Clarksburg, ON. It's a fine example of Debra's detailed painting style.

Fabulous February Gallery Events

From Ravenna by Ofra Svorai
It's February and my 2012 Grey Bruce calendar is turned to Ofra Svorai's painting From Ravenna by Ofra Svorai. This painting depicts the beautiful scenery that we are so fortunate to have in this part of Ontario.

She moved to Canada in 1973 and enrolled at Sheridan College School of Design, graduating with honors in 1977. She works as a full time artist. Her work can be seen at galleries, her own showroom near Kimberley, Ontario and her website. www.ofrasvorai.com
